First Quarter Challenge 2016

Snip it, Rip it, Pass it!

  1. All of the fabrics you received have to be represented in the quilt although you don’t need to use the full amounts and you can use any number of other fabrics from your stash.
  2. Your quilt must represent these three tenants of modern quilting: No border, bright and graphic color palettes and asymmetry.
  3. Any size, any technique.
  4. Have fun!
  5. Challenge is due at the April meeting We’d love to see a completed quilt, but if a top is all you managed, we want to see it!

January Meeting Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that we will be meeting next Saturday, 1/23 at 10:30 at the South Mandarin Library branch.

Some exciting things are in store for 2016. Our Program Committee has been working very hard and have come up with new and exciting programs and activities for the year. For this meeting we will be announcing a new challenge. Please bring one yard of your favorite solid fabric to participate. No need for your sewing machine but as with most of our guild meetings, there is a sew-in after the meeting in the same room until 6:00 for whomever is interested.

Also a reminder that membership dues are due. The Jacksonville MQG has made paying  your annual dues easier. Check out our Paypal Payment Option link under the Membership section on the right side of the blog. You can also pay your dues at the meeting with cash or check. In the meeting we will be discussing what it means to be a member of the National Modern Quilt Guild and what benefits come along with being a member

And lastly, please bring your name tag to the meeting. If you don’t have one, feel free to create your own unique name tag or we will have blank ones at the meeting for you to use.

See you all then!
