Every Quilt has a story!

Our January meeting included a member’s trunk show.  Members brought quilts and other sewn items to showcase their quilting style or quilts that have special meaning.

Leslee showed off 3 of her recent finishes.  Leslee used different types of applique to create three great pieces.  How sweet is that bunny!

Jenna showed us her first quilt made for her daughter.  Her story that brought her to quilting shows why quilting has the power to heal.  She also showed us a sweet little dress for her baby girl.  Something handmade from mama is always special.

Melsenia brought her paper pieced diamond.  This quilt is amazing.  She showed us some techniques on how to get that wall hanging  to hang straight.  Great information.

Paula gave her son the world!! He loves to travel so she made him a map of the world.  What a great way to remember where’s he’s been and where his next dream takes him.  She also brought along a swap mini that a swap partner made of her little dachshund.

Kate showed off some stunning pieces she is working on.  Alas, since she was taking the pics, I forgot to take over that job!! Pics will be added!! Too pretty not to show.

Update: So here are pics of Kate’s quilts.  A riot of color!! Gorgeous!!

I brought almost everything I had.  Hey, it was a trunk show and I had to clean out my trunk.

A few finishes:

A few still to be finished (adding these to our UFO challenge):
