TO BE RESCHEDULED – Cancelled due to Corona Virus – Timna Tarr -Map Making with Fabrics Class -April 24

  • Use fabric to capture a special location. Maybe it’s your favorite vacation spot, your neighborhood, or your hometown. Over the course of the workshop, participants will learn both pattern-making and improvisational quilting techniques to create personal map quilts. Bring a large paper map of a location you would like to replicate (approx. 24”x 36”), your favorite fabrics and threads, and a willingness to experiment. Mark your place in the world!
  • JaxMQG Members only $45 (+$2.50 PayPal fee) until March 1st (class is limited to a max of 25 so reserve your seat now) Pay by PayPal or at the next meeting. The class will be opened up to non-members March 1st if there are still any open seats.
  • Timna Tarr sent us a supply list (click here for the supply list) and also wanted to be sure to tell us that (24″ x 36″) is an ambitious size for a quilt map. We can start smaller if we would like to. The finished size of the quilt will be approximately the finished size of the paper map.
